Movement for Rights and Freedoms Political Party

• The Bulgarian Movement for Rights and Freedoms (Dvizhenie za prava i svobodi, DPS) is a political party in Bulgaria that primarily represents the interests of the Turkish minority in the country, although it positions itself as a center-right, liberal party open to all citizens regardless of ethnicity. Founded in 1990, shortly after the fall of communism in Bulgaria, the party emerged as a response to the decades-long assimilation policies and repression of the Turkish and Muslim minorities by the communist regime, most notably during the so-called "Revival Process" in the 1980s.
